Today's hot chocolate is "mocha" inspired. Although a mocha is technically espresso, chocolate, and milk. So today we are just going to make a very soft ganache by infusing coffee beans into the milk and then pouring it over the chocolate and then we add water [or more milk]- voila! It doesn't have an overly coffee flavor, but is also not too sweet, which i really love about it. If you enjoy mocha's, then I would advise that you use milk chocolate instead of dark chocolate!
Coffee Hot Chocolate
Milk: 6 oz
Chocolate: 3 oz
Coffee beans: 10 g [they can be whole or ground- ground means more coffee flavor]
Hot water: as needed
1. Boil coffee beans and milk together. allow to steep for 5 minutes.
2. Strain coffee beans and pour milk over chocolate.
3. Stir the mixture until homogenous
4. Divide equally into cups [about 1/3 of the way] and then top with hot water [or more milk if you like]
5. Stir and enjoy! Go ahead and dip biscotti in it!
make sure you carefully strain the coffee beans! otherwise you will have gritty hot chocolate
